Mohamed Ouahbi hands Amine Sbaï chance to impress in Morocco World Cup camp
Mohamed Ouahbi has included Amine Sbaï in Morocco’s preliminary training camp ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup as preparations continue for the global tournament.
The Atlas Lions are holding a preparatory camp from May 22 to May 26 at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, where the technical team will assess several players before finalising the squad for the World Cup.
Ouahbi on Wednesday announced a provisional 28-man squad for the camp as Morocco intensifies preparations ahead of naming its final team for the tournament.
Sbaï’s call-up offers the Angers SCO winger a major opportunity to convince the coaching staff and secure a place in the squad that will represent Morocco on football’s biggest stage.
The 25-year-old winger, who was born in Sidi Kacem, currently plays for Angers SCO in Ligue 1. Known for his pace, dribbling ability and creativity in attack, Sbaï mainly operates on the left wing but is also capable of playing on the right side.
The Moroccan attacker developed through the youth ranks of Nîmes Olympique before beginning his senior career with clubs including Olympique Alès and FC Sète 34. He later impressed at Grenoble Foot 38, spent time with Al-Fateh SC in Saudi Arabia, and joined Angers in 2025.
