Mohamed Mesilhi, the chairman of Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club, has affirmed the club’s commitment to Angolan top scorer Christopher Mabululu, stating there are no intentions to part with his services following the player’s outstanding performance in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations finals in Ivory Coast.
Mesilhi revealed that they managed to renew the contract for the Angolan striker before traveling to the Ivory Coast for three seasons, emphasizing the club’s steadfastness in retaining him, particularly after the closure of the winter registration period in Egypt.
It became impractical to replace the player, who excelled in the African Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast, netting three goals.
The chairman hinted at possible developments during the upcoming summer transfer window regarding the player, especially considering that he has already received several offers from Arab clubs at the beginning of the season.
However, these offers came through the player’s agent, and Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club has not received any official communication from any club regarding him.
The first football team of Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club will return to daily training sessions at the club’s fields in Smouha today after a 24-hour rest granted by Tarek El-Ashri, the team’s coach, following a 1-0 defeat against Ceramica in the League Cup semifinals.
Christopher Mabululu’s stellar performance has not only captured the attention of fans but also piqued the interest of clubs, reflecting his significance to Al-Ittihad Alexandria Club’s future endeavors.
As the transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on whether the club can retain the talented Angolan striker amidst growing interest from various quarters.
