Mohamed Konaté continued his impressive run of form as he played a pivotal role in Al Riyadh’s 3-1 victory over Al Safa in the King’s Cup round of 16 in Saudi Arabia. The Burkinabe striker, who recently found the net in a league match, added to his contributions with a crucial assist, helping his team secure a place in the next round.

Al Riyadh, who travelled to face Al Safa, started the game with attacking intent. Konaté, leading the front line, once again proved his importance to the team with a standout performance.

Despite not scoring himself, his decisive pass set up Mohamed Saleh to net Al Riyadh’s third goal, ensuring their comfortable passage through to the next stage.

Konaté’s assist came at a key moment in the match. With Al Riyadh already holding a lead, the Burkinabe forward’s vision and execution in setting up Saleh sealed the victory, extinguishing any hopes of a comeback from Al Safa.

His ability to not only score but also create opportunities for his teammates has been a hallmark of his play this season, and his contribution in this fixture highlighted his growing influence on the team’s attacking play.

After his weekend goal in the league, this assist in the King’s Cup further cements Konaté’s position as a key player for Al Riyadh.

The striker’s form will be crucial as the club aims for success in both domestic competitions.

Al Riyadh’s dominance throughout the match was evident from the start. The visitors controlled possession and created numerous chances, with their attacking play repeatedly causing problems for the Al Safa defense.

Konaté was involved in many of these moves, linking up well with his teammates and keeping the opposition on the back foot.

By the time Saleh scored the third goal, the result was beyond doubt. Al Safa, despite some spirited moments, were unable to break down Al Riyadh’s organized defense, and the away side saw out the match with relative ease.

With this win, Al Riyadh now advances to the next round of the King’s Cup, where they will look to continue their impressive run. Konaté’s form will be key as the team seeks to go deeper into the competition.

His combination of goal-scoring and playmaking abilities has made him one of the standout performers in the squad this season.

The Burkinabe international will now turn his attention back to the league, where he will hope to maintain his momentum.

For Al Riyadh, the aim will be to carry this cup form into their league performances, as they continue to push for success on multiple fronts.

As the King’s Cup progresses, Konaté and Al Riyadh will undoubtedly be a team to watch, with the striker’s performances proving pivotal to their hopes of lifting silverware this season.
