Mohamed El Shenawy, the first-choice goalkeeper for the Al Ahly football team, is set to travel to Qatar to undergo his rehabilitation program at the Aspire Academy.
This renowned academy has previously been utilized by several players from the team for their recovery.
El Shenawy continues his rehabilitation program to recover from shoulder surgery he recently underwent in Germany.
The injury occurred during Egypt’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, where Egypt was eliminated in the round of 16 by Congo.
Following this setback, the goalkeeper opted to travel to Qatar for further treatment.
The recovery period for El Shenawy’s shoulder surgery is estimated to be between three to four months.
After undergoing surgery in Germany and a subsequent recovery period spent abroad, the international goalkeeper returned to Cairo.
He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at Al Ahly before commencing a new program in Qatar in the coming days, once travel arrangements are finalized.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly continues its daily training sessions at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium in preparation for the upcoming match against Medeama in the CAF Champions League scheduled for next Friday.
