The Board of Directors of Al Ahly Club, led by Mahmoud El Khatib, has appointed Mohamed El Damaty, a board member, to head the delegation of the first football team traveling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This move comes as Al Ahly prepares to face off against their arch-rivals, Zamalek, in the Egyptian Cup final for the previous season.
The final between Al Ahly and Zamalek is scheduled to take place on Friday, March 8th, at the Al Oula Park Stadium, the home ground of Al Nasr Saudi Club.
El Damaty’s responsibilities include coordination and supervision alongside Khaled Bebo, the team’s football director, regarding all matters related to the delegation’s travel and accommodation.
His role also involves ensuring a conducive environment for the coaching staff and players.
Al Ahly secured their spot in the Egyptian Cup final after a convincing victory over Enppi with a 3-0 scoreline in the semi-final round.
Meanwhile, Zamalek advanced to the final after overcoming Pyramids FC in a penalty shootout during the same stage of the competition.
