Celta de Vigo have been linked with a move for Guinea-France centre-forward Mohamed Bayo, who is rumoured to be on Lille’s outgoing list with uncertainty over his contract situation.

The 27-year-old, born in Clermont-Ferrand on 4 June 1998, is currently listed with Turkish side Gaziantep FK and wears the number 9 shirt, but the latest transfer speculation centres on a potential switch from Ligue 1 club Lille to La Liga outfit Celta. The reported probability of the deal remains unclear, with the move rated simply as “?” at this stage.

Bayo, a right-footed centre-forward standing at 1.87m, holds both Guinean and French nationality. His market value is currently estimated at €4.00m, a figure that could appeal to Celta as they look for cost-effective attacking options. With his contract details not specified and no expiry date recorded, there is also scope for discussions around a cut-price deal or even the prospect of him becoming a free agent if his agreement is close to running down or has already expired.

The forward has experience across France’s top flight with Lille and has more recently been involved with Gaziantep FK, where he has been part of their attacking unit in Turkey. Recent outings for Gaziantep FK have kept him match sharp, with the striker featuring as a central attacking option in the Super Lig as he looks to re-establish his value after previous spells in Ligue 1.

Bayo’s dual-nationality profile and experience in different European leagues add to his appeal for Celta, who are seeking extra firepower to navigate the demands of La Liga. If a move does materialise, a successful stint in Spain could prove pivotal in reshaping his career trajectory and reinforcing his reputation as a reliable top-flight goalscorer.
