Mohamed Azzi joins CSKA Moscow as Algerian full-back makes €3.25m move

Algerian right-back Mohamed Azzi has joined CSKA Moscow from Dinamo Makhach in a €3.25m transfer, adding a 24-year-old defender to the Russian Premier Liga club’s squad.

Azzi completed the move on 2 September 2026 and has signed a contract with CSKA Moscow running until 30 June 2030. The transfer takes him across the Russian top flight after an 18-month spell with Dinamo Makhach, who signed him from Algerian side CR Belouizdad in February 2025.

The defender made five league appearances for Dinamo Makhach during the 2026-27 campaign, providing one assist. He also featured once in the Russian Cup before switching clubs, giving him six competitive appearances in the season before his move to CSKA Moscow.

Azzi began his senior career with CR Belouizdad after progressing from the club’s under-21 side. He helped the Algiers-based club win three successive Algerian league titles in the 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, before adding the Algerian Cup in 2023-24.

His move to Russia followed quickly after that successful period in Algeria. CR Belouizdad transferred him to Dinamo Makhach for €200,000 in February 2025, and Azzi has now made a further step within the Russian league in a deal worth €3.25m.

A right-footed defender who stands 1.77m tall, Azzi is listed primarily as a right-back. He was born in Ouargla on 11 May 2002 and has represented Algeria as his nationality.

CSKA Moscow have secured his services after the player’s market value was recorded at €1m, with the club tying him to a contract that extends through the end of June 2030. Mohamed Azzi’s completed transfer from Dinamo Makhach to CSKA Moscow was finalised on 2 September 2026.
