Mohamed Awwad vows victory for Zamalek fans ahead of Pyramids clash

Mohamed Awwad, Zamalek’s veteran goalkeeper, underlined his team’s readiness for the Egyptian Super Cup semi-final against Pyramids.

He expressed confidence in his teammates and said, “We’re used to facing tough circumstances, but our sights are set on winning the trophy and making our fans proud.”

He assured supporters that the club’s goalkeeper unit is united: “Whoever plays will rise to the challenge, our shared goal is to bring home the cup.”

Commenting on missing players like Nabil Emad Donga, Nasser Mansi, and Juan Bezerra, Awwad admitted these are “important absences,” but insisted that anyone who wears the Zamalek shirt is “up to the responsibility.” He encouraged newcomers, calling them “big players who will add strength to the team,” and wished them success.

Team captain Omar Gaber echoed Awwad’s optimism: “Zamalek is always the top contender in games like these. Our supporters are our true source of strength, and we’re determined to make them happy, especially after overcoming even more difficult situations.”

The team announced the addition of Portuguese coaches Vitor Pereira and Costa Ribeiro, bringing fresh energy to Zamalek’s preparation.

The Super Cup finalists will face off in new kits, with Zamalek in white and Pyramids in black. In case of a draw, the match will go directly to penalties, per the tournament rules.
