The Algerian international and top scorer of Saint-Gilloise Club, Mohamed Amoura, has been crowned the best Arab player in the Belgian league, receiving the prestigious “Golden Lion” award, an annual accolade bestowed upon exceptional talent.
The Green’s striker received the award for the best Arab player on Friday, during a ceremony held in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
With this achievement, Amoura becomes the third Algerian to claim the “Golden Lion” award for the best Arab player in Belgium, following in the footsteps of compatriots Sofiane Hanni and Ishak Belfodil, who won the award in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Amoura joined Saint-Gilloise last summer from Lugano in Switzerland.
So far, he has netted 21 goals and provided 6 assists, in addition to clinching the Belgian Cup and positioning his club in contention for the league title during the “play-offs” phase.
