Zamalek’s efforts to fill their contracting director role have met a setback as former Almeria manager Mohamed Adel turned down the offer, according to an official club source.
In recent days, several Zamalek board members approached Adel in a bid to bring him into the fold, but the coach declined after considering the situation.
“Over the past few days, more than one member of the Zamalek council has been in contact with Mohamed Adel to persuade him to become the contracting director,” the source told Kooora.
The hesitation seems rooted in internal complications rather than financial or personal matters. Adel reportedly saw too much confusion around the role and its responsibilities.
“Mohamed Adel rejected all attempts for several reasons, the most important of which is the lack of clarity of the duties of the position for him within the club, as there is more than one person interfering in the football file,” the source added.
Zamalek’s search for stability behind the scenes continues, as they now look for alternatives to lead their recruitment department effectively.
