Swansea City Sign Gambian Striker Modou Barrow
Swansea City have boosted their squad on the final day of the transfer window by signing 21-year-old Gambian forward Modou Barrow.
The striker joins the Swans from Swedish club Östersunds FK, where he impressed last season by scoring 10 goals in 19 appearances. Barrow has signed a long-term contract with Swansea, currently joint-top of the Premier League after two wins and a draw in their opening three games.
Barrow will initially feature for Swansea’s Under-21 side as he aims to adapt to English football and stake a claim for first-team action.
“I’m very happy to be here. I can’t wait to show what I can do and score goals,” Barrow told the club website.
He praised Swansea’s style of play and their commitment to developing young talent. “I like the way Swansea play football. It’s very enjoyable. I’m lucky to be at a club that gives young people a chance. I can progress here.”
The arrival of Barrow adds attacking options for manager Garry Monk as Swansea look to build on their promising start to the Premier League season.
