Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, the Minister of Youth and Sports, accompanied by Egypt’s Olympic and world champions in wrestling, weightlifting, squash, modern pentathlon, fencing, karate, and taekwondo, graced the training session of the Egyptian national team.
The session, hosted at the Egypt Stadium in the new administrative capital of Egypt, aims to bolster the Pharaohs before the upcoming African Cup of Nations.
Addressing the national team, Minister Sobhi expressed, “We made a point to be present today with this significant number of Egypt’s Olympic and world champions to support the Egyptian team before their competition.
I am pleased to be here today within this great sports arena.”
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi highlighted the exceptional talent within the Egyptian national team, emphasizing that these players, who compete in top global clubs, constitute a generation capable of continuing successes.
He expressed confidence that this generation could etch its name in golden letters in Egyptian football history by clinching the upcoming African championship, bringing joy to the eagerly awaiting fans.
The Minister added that Egypt now boasts several state-of-the-art sports facilities, including the recently inaugurated Egypt International City for Olympic Games in the new administrative capital.
This facility hosted our national team’s training camp before entering the African championship and stands as a remarkable addition to the country’s sports infrastructure.
Minister Sobhi asserted, “We have laid out an extensive plan to develop the Egyptian football system in collaboration with the Egyptian Football Association.
We are now on the right path, evident in the matches played by the national team. We are progressing steadily and robustly towards qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, a journey recognized by the fans in recent games.”
