Milan’s Technical Director, Geoffrey Moncada, expresses unwavering optimism regarding the potential of Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze, despite a subdued initiation into the Rossoneri squad.
In a recent encounter with Newcastle, Chukwueze found the net, securing a pivotal goal in Milan’s 2-1 triumph. This victory ensured Milan’s qualification for the Europa League play-offs.
Notably, this marked only the second goal for the 24-year-old in 15 appearances across various competitions.
Moncada, acknowledging Chukwueze’s work ethic and character, shared his positive outlook on the player’s future impact on Milan. “I’m happy for Chukwueze because he is a good guy who works a lot.
I am sure that the future for him will be good for us,” Moncada remarked, as reported by Siempre Milan.
Since his summer transfer from Villarreal, Chukwueze is yet to find the back of the net in Serie A, enduring 11 league matches without a goal.
As Milan prepares to face Monza in Serie A this Sunday, the fixture presents a prime opportunity for Chukwueze to further assert himself before the winter break.
Compounded by the absence of Chukwueze during the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2023 (scheduled from January 13 to February 11 in Ivory Coast), Milan remains committed to maximizing the winger’s potential, believing that he will increasingly contribute to the team’s success in the future.
