Galatasaray forward Michy Batshuayi has expressed enthusiasm about his developing partnership with Nigerian star Victor Osimhen.
The duo is expected to play a critical role in leading the attack for the reigning Turkish Süper Lig champions, especially following Mauro Icardi’s unfortunate injury.
Icardi, the former Argentina international, suffered an ACL injury that is likely to sideline him for the rest of the season. Before the injury, Icardi had been instrumental in Galatasaray’s frontline, often teaming up with Osimhen to create scoring opportunities.
With Icardi out, Batshuayi is prepared to step up and contribute significantly to the team’s offensive efforts alongside Osimhen.
Speaking about their partnership, Batshuayi said: “I can play as a single forward or a double forward. Victor is good at aerial balls because he is tall. He also makes deep runs, while I am good technically on my side.”
Osimhen has been in scintillating form this season, scoring eight goals in nine appearances across all competitions for the Yellow and Reds.
As Galatasaray looks to maintain its dominance in the league, the Batshuayi-Osimhen combination could prove to be a game-changer in their pursuit of more success.
