Last summer, Bayern Munich paid more than 50 million euros for Michael Olise, and the young Frenchman is showing his value with each encounter.
In the 2024/25 season, the 23-year-old has featured in 41 competitive games for Munich, racking up an eye-catching tally of 13 goals and 13 assists. It’s a return that’s turned heads across the Bundesliga.
Sky pundit Dietmar Hamann, however, urges caution when it comes to showering Olise with praise. “You shouldn’t tell him how good he is. You have to keep him on the short leash,” the 51-year-old told Bild newspaper.
Still, Hamann can’t hide his admiration for the winger’s instant impact. “He shows it immediately in the first year. You don’t see that often when a player comes from abroad. He prepared and scored a lot of goals.”
Hamann even ranks Olise above Bayern’s other wing options. “Gnabry hardly plays a role, Coman has injuries again and again and Sané is only now in the shot.” For now, Olise is stealing the show.
