World Cup 2026: Michael Olise compared to Zinedine Zidane by Christophe Dugarry

Michael Olise is set for decisive talks with Bayern Munich after reportedly requesting a meeting with the club’s hierarchy once the World Cup concludes, amid growing interest from Real Madrid.

The France international has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest properties following a sensational first season in Germany, prompting fresh speculation over his long-term future despite Bayern’s determination to keep hold of him.

According to reports from El Debate, the 24-year-old wants to sit down with Bayern officials immediately after the tournament to discuss his future as Madrid continue to monitor his situation.

Madrid interest grows after stunning campaign

Olise has enjoyed a remarkable rise since joining Bayern in July 2024, establishing himself among the world’s elite attacking players.

His outstanding 2025-26 campaign produced 25 goals and 28 assists in 57 appearances across all competitions, form that has also cemented his place as a key figure in France’s World Cup challenge.

Real Madrid’s admiration for the winger has been widely reported, with the Spanish giants viewing him as a potential addition to their star-studded squad. The speculation has intensified while Olise has been on international duty alongside several Madrid players, including Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni, leaving him fully aware of the European champions’ interest.

Bayern prepare lucrative contract offer

Despite Madrid’s pursuit, Bayern have no intention of sanctioning the departure of one of their prized assets.

The Bundesliga champions are instead preparing a significantly improved contract in a bid to fend off any potential advances from Spain. Reports suggest the club are ready to raise Olise’s annual base salary from €8 million to €14 million as part of their efforts to secure his long-term commitment.

The proposed pay rise underlines Bayern’s belief that the Frenchman will remain central to their ambitions both domestically and in Europe after an exceptional breakthrough campaign.
