Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Mevlüt Erdinç has lavished praise on Ousmane Dembélé, describing him as the “most complete player” at the club.
Speaking on 100% PSG le Mag on France Bleu Paris, the ex-Turkey international shared his admiration for the French winger, whom he first encountered during their time at Rennes.
Erdinç, who played for Rennes in the 2012-2013 season while Dembélé was coming through the club’s youth system, expressed his amazement at how much the Paris Saint-Germain forward has evolved in recent years.
Dembélé’s growth into an elite forward
Reflecting on the progress Dembélé has made, Erdinç highlighted the player’s exceptional development, particularly in his attacking versatility.
I feel like he’s got it all figured out.
He’s become the player we wanted to see before, Erdinç said. He knows how to eliminate, shoot with both feet, make assists.
He knows how to do everything. He’s the most complete player at PSG right now.
Dembélé’s impact at PSG this season has been undeniable, and his performances have earned widespread recognition.
Known for his dribbling skills and explosive pace, he has added greater consistency and end product to his game, making him a key asset for manager Luis Enrique.
A surprise improvement in finishing
Erdinç admitted he had not anticipated the level of efficiency Dembélé has displayed in front of goal.
What he’s doing is extraordinary, he continued. I didn’t expect to see what I’m seeing today.
The former striker also questioned whether Dembélé had specifically worked on his finishing, as his composure in front of goal appears significantly improved.
I don’t know if he’s working in front of goal, but you can feel that when it comes to finishing, he’s a player who wants to, Erdinç observed.
Dembélé’s influence at PSG
Since arriving at PSG from Barcelona, Dembélé has become an integral part of the team’s attacking setup, linking up well with teammates and delivering decisive moments in key matches.
His ability to contribute both goals and assists has strengthened PSG’s title charge, with the club aiming for domestic and European success.
As PSG continues its campaign, Dembélé’s performances will be crucial in determining the team’s fortunes.
For Erdinç, there is no doubt that the winger has reached a new level—one that could see him take on an even greater role at both club and international level in the years ahead.
