Etienne Capoue, who arrived from Toulouse last summer, may already be considering a move to a new club. The French international midfielder has seen his playing time diminish during his time at White Hart Lane with Tottenham. Feeling frustrated with his lack of opportunities, Capoue is open to a departure as he acknowledges the impact it could have on his chances for the World Cup.
Capoue expressed his concerns to the media, stating, “If I don’t play, it’s going to be difficult (for the World Cup). If anything comes up, we’ll discuss it.” Tottenham Hotspur, in turn, is reportedly willing to negotiate his departure.
Napoli, managed by Rafael Benitez, has shown interest in acquiring Capoue’s services and has already made an initial offer of €10 million to Tottenham. However, Spurs are holding out for a larger sum before agreeing to let go of the midfielder. Reports suggest that Napoli might need to increase their offer to nearly €14 million in order to secure Capoue’s transfer to the Italian club.
