Stéphane Bahoken, the Franco-Cameroonian striker, has received unfortunate news as his intended loan move to CA Bastia during the winter transfer window has been invalidated by the Professional Football League (LFP). Initially expected to join CA Bastia on loan from OGC Nice for the second half of the season, the LFP decision is based on the fact that Bahoken had already played for two clubs, Saint Mirren in the Scottish Premiership and Nice, in the current season.
Due to his participation in professional matches with Saint Mirren and an amateur match (CFA) with OGC Nice, Bahoken is ineligible to play for a third club until June 30, as per Article 212 of the LFP regulations.
As a result, the striker will remain with OGC Nice for the remainder of the season, unable to join CA Bastia as initially planned. Despite Bahoken’s desire to move after being loaned to Scottish club Saint-Mirren without a purchase option, the LFP’s decision has thwarted his efforts. The young player, who made a significant impact in Ligue 1 last season, will now have to wait until the summer to explore potential opportunities, including a possible return to Scotland.
