Bacary Sagna, whose contract with Arsenal is set to expire in a year, has not yet extended his deal with the club. As the transfer window approaches, the Franco-Senegalese right-back is attracting interest from AS Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). While there’s a possibility that he might not reach an agreement with Arsenal for an extension, Sagna is likely to leave London this summer.
Currently in South America with the French national team for two friendly matches against Uruguay and Brazil, Sagna shared his thoughts on his future with the club. Despite acknowledging interest from PSG and AS Monaco, the Arsenal defender is discerning about the projects he would consider. He has his sights set on the World Cup and won’t make a move just for the sake of it.
Sagna stated, “It’s possible. We would have to see under what conditions and what, sportingly, they offer. I won’t leave for just anything. If I stay at Arsenal, I will try to have a good season; there is the World Cup at the end. If I have to leave, it will be a new challenge.” It seems that Sagna is considering his options carefully, weighing the sporting aspects and conditions offered by potential clubs, with a focus on the upcoming World Cup.
