Two Zambian players, Stoppila Sunzu and Nathan Sinkala, have officially joined FC Sochaux, as announced a few days ago. The president of the French club, Laurent Pernet, introduced the new signings from the Congolese club Tout Puissant Mazembe.
Stoppila Sunzu, a 24-year-old central defender, has signed a three-and-a-half-season contract with FC Sochaux. He has been playing for Tout Puissant Mazembe since 2009, winning the CAF Champions League in 2009 and 2010, and reaching the final of the Club World Cup.
Nathan Sinkala, a midfielder, has joined FC Sochaux on loan for six months, with an option for the French club to purchase him from Tout Puissant Mazembe.
Both players were part of Zambia’s victorious squad in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations, managed by Hervé Renard, who is currently the coach of FC Sochaux.
