Wydad Casablanca goalkeeper Mehdi Benabid will captain the team in their upcoming clash against AS FAR on Saturday at Mohammed V Stadium in the Moroccan League’s round of 28.
Benabid, who recently departed AS FAR during the winter transfer window after a public dispute with the club’s technical staff, will face his former team for the first time in this match.
The decision to hand Benabid the captain’s armband comes as recognition of his exceptional form and his return to the Moroccan national team as the third-choice goalkeeper.
