Al-Ahly’s star player Hussein El-Shahat and Pyramids’ Moroccan midfielder Mohamed El-Shennawy, media pundit Mohamed Shabana has shed light on the evolving situation and the escalating tensions between the two clubs.
Speaking on his program “Box to Box” aired on etc channel, Shabana remarked, “There are established systems and regulations that everyone must respect.
Pyramids and their player, Mohamed El-Shennawy, filing a complaint in civil court was an entirely inappropriate decision.
The proper course of action would have been to follow the sports regulations and escalate the matter even if it reached FIFA.”
According to Shabana, El-Shennawy violated internal regulations, the Egyptian Football Association’s fundamental rules, and FIFA’s statutes by resorting to civil litigation after an official penalty was imposed by the Competitions Committee.
Commenting on the investigation involving Al-Ahly’s Hussein El-Shahat, Shabana mentioned, “Despite the reconciliation on the field and the subsequent apologies and penalties issued by the Competitions Committee, we were surprised by El-Shennawy’s decision to take legal action.”
Shabana continued, “Ashraf Abdelaziz, the lawyer for Hussein El-Shahat, has submitted multiple requests to the public prosecutor, urging the summoning of Afsha, Taher, Kahraba, along with Jamal Allam, the head of the Football Association, and Amer Hussein, the head of the Competitions Committee, to testify regarding the player’s alleged violation of football laws in filing the complaint.”
“After these requests, the Football Association decided to take decisive actions in this case, despite Al-Ahly filing an official complaint over a month ago.
It’s unclear why they waited 30 days to announce the transfer of Mohamed El-Shennawy to the Disciplinary Committee for investigation.
He will face disciplinary measures, and the Football Association is taking an extended time to make any decisions,” Shabana explained.
Shabana also added, “Pyramids will persist in pursuing the case against Mohamed El-Shennawy, and they won’t back down from any penalties imposed by the Disciplinary Committee.
The Football Association takes a long time to settle any case; they issued a decision to transfer the Moroccan player to the Disciplinary Committee a month after Al-Ahly’s complaint.
The final outcome may be a financial penalty for the player.”
“As the situation unfolds, Al-Ahly, Hussein El-Shahat, and their lawyers will not remain silent.
After the public prosecutor gathers statements from all parties, the crisis may escalate further.
The case might be taken to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), with official complaints filed against Pyramids, El-Shennawy, and the Football Association for resorting to ordinary judiciary, which violates regulations,” Shabana speculated.
In conclusion, Shabana noted, “Pyramids will attempt to evade the Football Association’s regulations by arguing that they didn’t resort to civil or administrative judiciary, claiming that they pursued criminal litigation.
Each party will try to interpret the regulations according to its interests.”
The footballing community eagerly awaits the resolution of this intricate dispute, as the conflict surrounding El-Shahat and El-Shennawy continues to dominate headlines, casting a shadow over the Egyptian football scene.
