Good news for Mauritania: star striker Dominique Da Silva will be available for the return leg against Mauritius in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
After missing the first leg—which Mauritania won 1-0 under coach Patrice Neveu—due to administrative issues, Da Silva has now been cleared to play. His return adds much-needed firepower and experience to the squad for the decisive second match.
Speaking to Mauritaniefootball, the forward expressed both commitment and hope:
“As usual, I have to make sacrifices for the love of Mauritania. I hope for recognition in return, I will return to the group.”
This could significantly boost Mauritania’s chances of progressing to the next qualifying round.
