Tunisia laboured to defeat 10-man Malawi 2-0 on Monday night to stay top in the Group H standings of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The North Africans hosted the Round 6 fixture keen on picking all three points to enhance chances of securing qualification to next year’s mundial.
Despite dominating the first half, Tunisia could not find a breakthrough.
However, goals from Seifeddine Jaziri and Elias Achouri late in the second half after Malawi had been reduced to ten men propelled Tunisia to secure a 2-0 win
Malawi had a chance to pull one back in the final seconds of the match but Richard Mbulu could not win the battle of wits, wasting the opportunity from 12 yards.
