The Tunisian Football Federation is set to receive a substantial financial injection of $400,000 annually, announced by the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe.
Motsepe revealed this figure during a press conference held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on the eve of the conclusion of the 2023+1 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
Explaining the allocation, Motsepe stated that his organization previously provided each local football association with $200,000 annually. However, moving forward, this amount will double.
Expressing pride, the South African football executive highlighted how the flagship competition under the auspices of the CAF, the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), has attracted a significant global audience.
He emphasized that the 2024 edition in Ivory Coast garnered a staggering 2 billion viewers, hinting at one of the strongest factors contributing to the increased value of grants benefiting each national football association, including the Tunisian Football Federation.
This financial boost is expected to bolster the Tunisian football landscape, providing greater resources for development programs, infrastructure, and talent identification initiatives.
It signifies a significant investment in the future of Tunisian football, reflecting the sport’s growing prominence on the continental and global stages.
