New signing Marwan Othman opened his scoring account for Al Ahly, netting his first goal for the Cairo giants since joining on loan from Ceramica Cleopatra until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old forward struck in the league clash against Wadi Degla, adding extra joy to an already dominant performance by the defending champions.
Othman scored Al Ahly’s third goal in the 67th minute, rising brilliantly inside the box to meet a dangerous cross from Emam Ashour with a precise header that flew into the net. It was only his second appearance in the famous red shirt, after he led the line against Young Africans of Tanzania in the CAF Champions League a few days earlier without finding the target.
The young striker has now taken his tally to three league goals this season, having previously scored twice for Ceramica Cleopatra against Tala’ea El Gaish and Haras El Hodood before his move.
Earlier in the match, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet had broken the deadlock in the 25th minute, before Ahmed Mostafa Zizo doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time, setting the stage for Othman’s milestone moment.
