Marvin Nyanzi makes URA FC switch as Uganda midfielder leaves Express
Uganda attacking midfielder Marvin Nyanzi has joined URA FC from Express on a free transfer, beginning a new chapter in the Uganda Premier League.
The 22-year-old has signed a contract with URA FC running until 30 June 2028. Nyanzi’s move was completed on 15 August 2026, with the midfielder taking his career forward after a spell at Express.
Nyanzi made 34 appearances in the Uganda Premier League before the transfer, scoring three goals and providing one assist. He also featured once in the CAF Confederation Cup, playing 17 minutes in the competition.
His arrival gives URA FC a player with experience of domestic league football and continental competition. Nyanzi operates primarily as an attacking midfielder, the position in which he has established himself during his time in Uganda’s professional game.
Nyanzi joined Express on 9 February 2026, having previously been registered with Kitara. His time at Kitara followed a move from Wakiso Giants in July 2024, adding to his experience with clubs in the Ugandan domestic system.
The transfer represents another change of club for the Uganda international at the age of 22. He began his senior career with Wakiso Giants before moving to Kitara, then Express, and now URA FC.
Nyanzi’s departure from Express comes without a transfer fee, allowing URA FC to secure his services as a free transfer. His new contract keeps him at the club through the end of June 2028.
URA FC have therefore completed the signing of Marvin Nyanzi from Express, with the Ugandan midfielder now contracted to the club until 2028.
