Marvelous Nakamba: Zimbabwe Midfielder Linked with Panetolikos Move
Marvelous Nakamba, the Zimbabwe international currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Greek Super League 1 side Panetolikos. The 32-year-old defensive midfielder has been a free agent since the start of July and is understood to be weighing up offers as he considers the next step in his career.
Panetolikos are exploring the possibility of adding Nakamba’s experience to their midfield as they look to strengthen ahead of the new campaign. With his current status meaning no transfer fee would be required, the deal is viewed as a potentially low-cost way to bolster their options in the centre of the pitch.
Nakamba’s market value is currently estimated at around €700,000, a significant drop from his peak valuation of €10m during his earlier years in European football. That decline reflects both his age and recent lack of a long-term club but may make him a more attainable target for sides outside the major leagues.
The Hwange-born midfielder has built a CV that includes a Belgian league title with Club Brugge in 2017-18 and a Dutch Cup win with Vitesse Arnhem in 2016-17. More recently, he helped Luton Town win promotion to the top flight in 2022-23 and added the Football League Trophy in 2025-26, underlining his experience in high-stakes matches.
Nakamba officially became unattached on 1 July 2026 and is free to negotiate with interested clubs, with Panetolikos among those monitoring his situation closely.
