During a press conference, the OM defensive midfielder addressed questions about his future.
“I have not discussed a contract extension with the club, so I have nothing to say about it. I still have two years left on my contract, so why not stay? I believe I can contribute more, just like OM,” stated the Togolese player.
Regarding his performance, Romao mentioned “a lack of confidence” within the team. “We doubt ourselves. We lose possession, get countered, and that creates a sense of doubt. Unintentionally, we start to doubt and lack confidence,” he explained.
The former Lorient player also discussed the Togo national team and the ongoing search for a new coach for the Sparrowhawks.
“I’m always eager to represent my country, but the organizational structures are not ideal,” Romao stated. “The coach has departed, and the Federation is searching for a replacement. I hope they find one soon because after the World Cup, the qualifiers for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations will begin. We are eager to participate in the tournament in Morocco. I believe it will be a fantastic competition, and we have the potential to achieve great things there,” he added.
