Nicolas Nkoulou to Miss Le Classique Against PSG
Olympique de Marseille will have to face Paris Saint-Germain on April 5th without one of their key defenders, Nicolas Nkoulou. The Cameroonian international has been sidelined since February due to a patellar cartilage injury in his left knee, sustained after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Nkoulou underwent surgery performed by Dr. Jean-Pierre Franceschi, and although he may return to training shortly before the clash, OM coach Marcelo Bielsa has ruled him out for the high-stakes match.
“I don’t think Nkoulou is ready for this match,” Bielsa stated on Friday. “There’s a difference between being physically fit and being ready to play a match.”
Nkoulou has been continuing his rehabilitation daily at the Robert Louis-Dreyfus training center, closely monitored by Marseille’s medical staff, as he works toward a full recovery.
