Olympique Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi has called on the club to extend the contract of Central African Republic midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.
The defensive midfielder has stepped up for Marseille in recent months to play in defence for the team amid injury to several defenders.
Impressed with the versatility of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Roberto De Zerbi wants Marseille officials to discuss a contract extension deal with the player.
“Kondogbia has made an effort despite hardly ever playing in his position. It would be great if the club could extend his contract,” De Zerbi said after Marseille’s 5-1 win over Montpellier on Saturday evening.
Kondogbia joined Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2023 and has often been favoured by coaches for his calm demeanour off the pitch. He has made 23 appearances in Ligue 1 this season for Marseille.
He always gives everything for the team and is adored by the fans. Under his current contract, the defender has two more years remaining to play for Marseille.
