Olympique Marseille is setting its sights on Bayern Munich’s versatile right-back, Sacha Boey, to strengthen their shaky defense.
Struggling to solidify their backline, the French club’s recruitment team, led by Pablo Longoria, sees Boey as the ideal solution ahead of the upcoming transfer window, according to L’Équipe.
The 24-year-old French-born Cameroonian right back has been a standout in Vincent Kompany’s tactical setup in the Bundesliga, making him a prized asset for Bayern. However, prying Boey away won’t be easy. With a contract running until June 2028 and a €3 million annual salary, the Bavarians are in no rush to part ways. A loan deal might be Marseille’s best hope if a permanent transfer proves unattainable.
Valued at €18 million on Transfermarkt, Boey has established himself as one of the top prospects in Europe. As Bayern prepares to face Bayer Leverkusen in a German Cup clash, Boey is expected to feature prominently a reminder of why Marseille is keen to bring him back to Ligue 1.
Will the Phocéens pull off this ambitious move? Only time will tell.
