Marseille eyes Ivory Coast defender Evan N’Dicka in player-plus-cash deal

Lecce V As Roma Serie A 1170x780 1

Olympique Marseille are preparing a move to sign Ivory Coast international Evan N’Dicka, with a play-plus-cash offer under consideration.

The French Ligue 1 outfit are keen on strengthening their defense for the new campaign as manager Roberto De Zerbi plans a four-back system next season.

Marseille, who are interested in signing N’Dicka from Roma this summer are willing to include Canadian-Ivorian midfielder Ismaël Koné in addition to an undisclosed fee to tempt the Serie A club in releasing their defender.

Kone, 22, spent the second half of last season on loan at Stade Rennes, where he scored two goals and provided an assist in 21 appearances in the Ligue 1.

He worked with former Sporting Director of Rennes Frederic Massara, who has taken up a new role at AS Roma. As a huge admirer of the Canadian-Ivorian, he intend to sign him on a permanent deal to Roma.

N’Dicka, who joined Roma last summer on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt, is understood to be open to a move after a mixed first season in Italy.

However, Marseille could make a cash-plus-player transfer with Roma. In this case, N’Dicka will move to the French Ligue 1 side while Kone will switch to Roma.
