Marseille has struggled to find a successor to Didier Drogba since his departure for Chelsea in 2004. However, the Ivorian international remains deeply cherished by Marseille supporters.
Recently, while in a nightclub, Drogba, who now plays for Galatasaray, encountered Mamadou Niang and took the opportunity to immortalize the moment. Drogba praised Niang, one of his predecessors at OM, as “the very, very rare, if not the only one, to have worn the number 11 of OM with dignity after my departure,” adding a commendatory remark, “Real recognizes real.”
