Marcel Koller, the head coach of Al Ahly’s first football team, has expressed his satisfaction with the hard-fought victory secured by Al Ahly against Medeama of Ghana in the African Champions League group stage match.
Al Ahly clinched a valuable win against Medeama, securing a 1-0 victory in the group stage fixture of the African Champions League.
Koller noted that Al Ahly had earned three crucial points against Medeama, who put up a commendable performance.
He remarked, “We exerted a lot of effort to secure the win and claim three important points in the challenging and complex competition within this group.”
He continued, “We warned the players during halftime about the challenging weather conditions and the need to avoid technical mistakes that occurred in the first half.
We managed to achieve a deserved victory away from our home ground.”
Koller discussed the match conditions, stating, “We faced difficult circumstances before the match, but it served as a new lesson.
We must deal with any tough conditions, and indeed, we succeeded in securing the win.”
He emphasized, “The players put in a tremendous effort in the second half, and the goal they scored is a reward for the effort we put in.”
Koller concluded by expressing his satisfaction with the players’ effort in the match to secure the victory.
He also praised Karim Nedved’s performance after his absence from participation, as well as the outstanding performance displayed by Wisam Abu Ali in his first official appearance with Al Ahly.
Al Ahly currently leads Group D in the African Champions League alongside Medeama, Young Africans of Tanzania, and CR Belouizdad of Algeria.
With this result, Al Ahly’s points tally rises to 9, securing the top spot in the group, while Medeama remains at 4 points.
