Al Ahly’s head coach, Marcel Koller, conveyed a heartfelt message to the club’s supporters following the conclusion of his New Year break.
Koller utilized the hiatus during the international break, as the Egyptian national team gears up for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
Taking to his official Facebook account, Koller expressed, “We’ve endured a challenging period, navigating through 23 matches in 100 days, including 10 games in the last 33 days before the international break.
This span involved extensive and exhausting travel, including two trips to Tanzania, two to Saudi Arabia, and visits to the UAE and South Africa.”
He continued, “Subsequently, we entered an extended camp of three weeks in preparation for the Club World Cup and the Egyptian Super Cup.
We immersed ourselves in rigorous training, endless video analysis, gearing up for high-intensity matches, culminating in securing the bronze in the Club World Cup and the Egyptian Super Cup.”
Koller emphasized, “A break was necessary to catch our breath and prepare for the next phase, demanding every ounce of sweat, fatigue, and effort, especially in the absence of 12 players who are currently on international duty.”
During the break, amidst the captivating snow-covered Swiss mountains that consistently rejuvenate him, Koller stated, “Not only did I recharge my energy, but I also took advantage, along with part of my coaching staff, of attending mandatory training courses in Bern to renew my coaching license (UEFA Pro).”
In conclusion, Koller addressed the passionate Al Ahly supporters, saying, “My message to the magnificent Al Ahly fans, I have missed you, and I am delighted to see you again soon.”
The coach’s words reflect a commitment to excellence and a profound connection with the club’s ardent supporters as they eagerly anticipate his return.
