Marc Brys addresses resignation confusion, urges focus and unity ahead of Indomitable Lions’ campaign

Belgian tactician Marc Brys has denied resigning as coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

According to him, he has no knowledge of the letter of resignation circulating in the media.

This comes after several portals reported that Marc Brys has left his role as head coach of Cameroon due to unpaid salary.

However, in an official letter addressed to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, Brys categorically denied any knowledge of the document.

“I have never written or submitted any letter of resignation,” he stated, suggesting that the message was likely the result of a cyber-attack.

Brys further explained that his personal messaging system may have been compromised and that the letter was a deliberate attempt to destabilise the national team.

In response, the Ministry of Sports issued a communiqué confirming that the resignation claims were unfounded.

The Ministry noted that it first learned of the alleged resignation via social media, around the same time it received a letter from the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) referencing the “surprise resignation” of Marc Brys and including a copy of the forged document.

The clarification from both Brys and the Ministry appears to have put the matter to rest, although the incident adds to the growing tensions between Cameroon’s football authorities and the national team setup.
