Just months into his tenure as head coach of the Cameroon national football team, Marc Brys’ agent, Ivo Chi, is advocating for a contract extension until 2029.
The Belgian coach, appointed unexpectedly in April 2024, has enjoyed an undefeated record with the Indomitable Lions.
Cameroon secured four wins and two draws in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, capping the campaign with a 2-1 victory over Zimbabwe.
This strong performance follows Brys’ earlier successes, including a decisive 4-1 win against Namibia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Marc Brys’ leadership and vision are invaluable for the future,” Chi stated.
However, tensions between Brys and Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation, could complicate renewal discussions.
The coach’s record—five wins and three draws in eight matches—has won broad support, but Eto’o’s stance remains uncertain amid ongoing challenges in their relationship.
