Moroccan defender Noussair Mazraoui has noted that even if Manchester United wins the Europa League this season, it won’t change the fact that the club’s campaign in the English Premier League has been disastrous.
Speaking to Beanyman Sports, the 27-year-old bluntly described Manchester United’s campaign in the EPL as ‘shitty’.
“The Europa League season would be a big success, but the Premier League season will still be shitty,” Mazraoui said.
Manchester United despite changing Erik ten Haag to bring in Ruben Amorim have still struggled to compete in the English Premier League.
The club currently sit 16th in the Premier League, and will miss out on a top six finish at the end of the season.
Set to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final, Manchester United go into the match as the underdog, having lost three times to Spurs already this season.
For Noussair Mazraoui, this won’t be a factor. He is confident that Manchester United have what it takes to beat Spurs to clinch the Europa title.
“It’s the Europa League, it’s a final, so it’s going to be different,” the Moroccan said.
The Europa League final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will be played on Wednesday, May 21.
