Manchester United have set sights on signing Nigeria international forward Victor Osimhen ahead of the January transfer window.

The Red Devils are prepared to trigger Osimhen’s £62 million release clause to secure his services as manager Ruben Amorim intends to augment his squad.

Osimhen is currently on a season-long loan at Galatasaray after a break down in relationship with former Serie A champions.

The club believes that the addition of a player like Osimhen to their frontline could dramatically improve their season’s trajectory.

He was a top transfer target for Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain and other clubs but he ended up joining the Turkish outfit in the summer.

The 25-year-old Nigerian has registered 10 goals and 5 assists for Galatasaray across all competitions this season.
