Manchester United have made an opening bid to Brentford as the club commences formal steps to sign Cameroonian forward Bryan Mbeumo.
The English Premier League side has been linked with a move for the highly-rated forward since last week.
Manager Ruben Amorim wants to improve his squad to challenge for titles next season and believes signing Bryan Mbeumo will provide a massive squad boost.
Today, Africasoccer has learned that Manchester United have submitted a £45 million plus £10 million add-ons proposal for Bryan Mbeumo.
It is understood that Brentford ask for a fee close to what Man United paid for Cunha, starting from £70m with the possibility to negotiate.
With the opening bid, Manchester United will now seek an audience with Brentford officials to meet and discuss the deal.
Reports indicate that the Red Devils will be willing to improve the bid to make the deal to sign Bryan Mbeumo happen.
The 25-year-old racked up 20 goals and provided 8 assists in 38 Premier League appearances for Brentford.
He is said to be interested in making the switch to Manchester United this summer.
