Embattled Premier League outfit Manchester United have shortlisted French-Algerian manager Zinedine Zidane as a potential replacement for under-fire Ruben Amorim.
The 52-year-old, who won three consecutive Champions League title with Real Madrid is currently unattached after leaving the Spanish giants.
Despite being tipped to replace Didier Deschamps as next France national team manager, the Red Devils has shortlisted Zidane and two other coaches for the job.
Other coaches shortlisted for the Manchester United job include England gaffer Thomas Tuchel, and USA’s Mauricio Pochettino.
Amorim is under increased pressure at United after a disastrous first three months at the club.
He has a win rate of just 43 per cent – one of the worst in the club’s history – and has overseen Manchester United dropping to 15th in the Premier League table.
As a result, there are increasing calls for Amorim to be sacked by Man Utd fans and pundits.
On Sunday, United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in London to continue their dismal run of form.
