Premier League giants Manchester United are prepared to trigger Nigeria international Victor Osimhen’s release clause to secure his signing in the summer.
Osimhen is currently on a season-long loan spell with Turkish giants Galatasaray from Napoli after failed move to Chelsea and Al Hilal last summer.
With a permanent signing proving impossible for Galatasaray, Osimhen is expected to leave the side in the summer and return to parent club Napoli.
Since joining Galatasaray, the Nigerian international has proven to be one of Europe’s best forwards, scoring 20 goals and providing 5 assists in 25 appearances across competitions.
According to reports in Italy, Osimhen is 95 percent likely to be sold by Napoli in the summer, with Manchester United ready to trigger his €75m release clause to secure his signing.
Joshua Zirkzee joined the Red Devils from Bologna for €42.5 million last summer and has since struggled to light up Old Trafford, while Rasmus Hojlund has also failed to live up to his hefty €73.9m price tag.
As a result, Ruben Amorim is determined to bring a new striker to the club, and Osimhen has emerged as Manchester United’s primary transfer target.
