Manchester United are expected to submit an improved offer to secure the services of Cameroonian attacker Bryan Mbeumo.
The Red Devils are keen on bolstering their attack for the upcoming campaign, and Mbeumo, who enjoyed an amazing season has emerged as one of the targets.
Mbeumo performed admirably for the Premier League outfit, scoring 20 goals and delivering nine assists in 42 appearances across competitions.
His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, earning significant interest from several clubs in Europe, with Manchester United no exception.
The Premier League giants’ initial bid of €53m (£45m) has been turned down by Brentford. Now the Red Devils are set to return with an improved bid worth a total of €71m (£60m).
This is a top-end figure that includes potential bonus payments for the player but crucially it matches the figure requested by Brentford.
Equally, United are willing to pay the vast majority of this figure in an upfront fee, with just €6m in potential add ons.
Once a transfer fee has been agreed with Brentford, Mbeumo’s move to Man Utd should be relatively straightforward given that he has already more-or-less agreed a contract with the club.
United are now expected to launch their new bid by the end of the weekend, with that move expected to be decisive in making Mbeumo the second new arrival of the summer at Old Trafford.
