Fast-Rising Gambian defender Abubakarr Sandeh Kinteh has attracted serious interest in Europe, with Manchester United reportedly keeping a close eye on his development.
The 19-year-old defender, who currently plies his trade with Norwegian top-flight side Tromsø, has emerged as a top transfer target for the Premier League giants.
The teenage sensation has impressed with a level of composure and tactical maturity well beyond his years, qualities that have not gone unnoticed at Old Trafford.
Per reports, Manchester United sporting director Jason Wilcox has personally instructed the club’s scouting department to track Kinteh’s progress closely.
The Red Devils are said to be monitoring his performances in Norway as part of their wider strategy of identifying young talents capable of developing into first-team regulars.
Kinteh has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with Tromsø, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in the club’s senior squad. This season, he has made 25 appearances across all competitions, contributing at both ends of the pitch with a goal and an assist.
His consistent displays at club level have also earned him a maiden call-up to the Gambian national team, where he has already made his international debut.
Tromsø are understood to be realistic about the growing interest in their young star and are aware that keeping hold of him long-term may prove difficult. As a result, the Norwegian outfit are reportedly open to listening to offers, with a fee in the region of €5 million expected to be enough to start negotiations.
