Manchester United have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.
The English Premier League outfit has long been linked with a move to sign the Super Eagles striker.
Although the Manchester-based club is said to have contacted the representatives of Osimhen over a possible signing of the player at the end of the 2024/25 football season, they have now dropped out of the race due to his high wage demands.
Meanwhile, Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray are considering breaking bank to sign Victor Osimhen.
Galatasaray’s Vice President Abdullah Kavukcu has confirmed that the club are ready to make a record breaking offer to permanently sign Osimhen from Italian outfit SSC Napoli.
“We talked to my president about Osimhen in January. We told Osimhen in January, ‘We want you very much, don’t go anywhere. We are working to get your transfer.
“We are developing projects for this. We developed them to sit at that table and we are at that table right now. We are ready to get his transfer and pay the salaries he will receive from Europe,” Kavukcu said, per A Spor.
It is understood that Galatasaray want to bypass negotiations with SSC Napoli by paying the striker’s 75 million euros release clause.
