Manchester United open talks with prolific Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen

Osimhen

Manchester United have opened talks to sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window.

As reported by Africasoccer last month, the English Premier League giants are leading the race to sign the SSC Napoli forward.

Victor Osimhen, 26, is currently on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray. At the club, the in-demand striker has established himself as the most lethal marksman in the league.

He remains one of the most deadly strikers in Europe and is of interest to several top European clubs.

This season, Osimhen has scored 33 goals and provided eight assists after making 37 appearances for Galatasaray in all competitions.

He is set to conclude his loan spell at Galatasaray at the end of the season and has already decided to leave Napoli permanently in the summer window.

With Manchester United opening talks with the player and his representatives, the club stands a big chance of signing the forward.

However, competition remains from Arsenal, Chelsea, and some other clubs in the Saudi Pro League who are ready to spend big to secure the services of Victor Osimhen.

He is expected to cost around 75 million euros.
