Manchester United not planning a move to sign Mateus Mané contrary to reports
Manchester United have no plans to sign Portugal-born forward of Guinean-Bissau descent, Mateus Mané, contrary to recent reports.
A source indicates that the Premier League side are exploring options to strengthen their attacking department ahead of next season.
As part of those considerations, the club has internally discussed the situation of Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon.
The 24-year-old has been in impressive form this campaign, registering 14 goals. Newcastle, however, may be compelled to sanction a major departure should they miss out on Champions League qualification, with the club currently placed tenth in the league standings.
At this point, Manchester United have not made a concrete attempt to secure Gordon’s services. The England international is viewed more as a potential market opportunity than a primary transfer objective.
Meanwhile, Mateus Mané of Wolverhampton Wanderers is not considered a leading target for the Old Trafford outfit, even though reports have claimed that contact has been established with his representatives.
