Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim wishes Cameroon Keeper Andre Onana well after Trabzonspor switch
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has sent best wishes to Cameroon international Andre Onana following his move to Trabzonspor.
After a difficult spell in England, the former Inter Milan shot stopper has secured a loan move to the Turkish outfit in search of regular playing time.
Onana fell down the pecking in the current season after being relegated to the bench in the Premier League. However, the former Ajax goalkeeper has joined Trabzonspor on a season-long loan, keeping him at the club until summer 2026.
In an interview, Amorim wished Onana well as he embark on a new challenge at Trabzonspor.
“Onana performed brilliantly at Inter, but as a club we needed changes. Sometimes it’s hard to explain—form, timing, certain setbacks made things difficult for him. I wish André all the best,” Amorim stated.
The Cameroonian international joined Manchester United from Inter in 2023 for €50 million but failed to establish himself as a reliable successor to David De Gea. His frequent mistakes and lack of consistency prompted the club to send him out on loan.
